Direct Positive Paper

This is my first attempt at Harman Direct Positive Paper… the idea is to expose the paper in-camera, like one would a negative… then the paper is processed in the darkroom and the result is an inverse image (like we see ourselves in the mirror… )

i could have flipped it in my scanner but i wanted to share the original as i see it in the print…

this is possible for me now because i have recently acquired a sheet film/cut film/ plate holder for my Mamiya RB67 Camera… i cut the direct positive paper in the darkroom(with a red safelight on) to about 2.5inx3.5 in (roughly 6x9cm) and then load it in the sheet holder…

the ISO is set at either ISO 3 or ISO 6 using my handheld lightmeter… from there on, the rest is simple… expose… develop… fix… dry… enjoy 🙂

there is a lot of room for me to improve these, especially my development technique and skills… i need to give some more development time for the shadows to come up and i need to flash the same photo before or after to widen the latitude…

for now, this is the first sheet i have worked with and i hope to do more 🙂 i am mostly excited about using this paper for portraits… lots of fun ahead 🙂 inshallah 🙂

Direct Rail Services 20308 & 20312 (0Z30 ~ York to York)

Direct Rail Services 20308 & 20312, Are seen here about to pass under Southcoates Lane Bridge on the Hull Docks Branch in full sun with the 0945 0Z30 from York to York via Hull and East Yorkshire.

This was a route learner, presumably for engineering works which DRS have won the contract for in the area in the next coming months.

What a fine racket, shattering the piece of East Hull at 0945 on a Thursday morning sure the folks approved.
